Aussie Infrared the race dog

Aussie’s race career was relatively short but stunning.

He raced and beat the best sprinters Australia had to offer, including group class dogs the likes of Aston Bolero, Pantera Nera, Andos Mac, Shima Song, Judicial Man and the like.

He broke the Warnambool track record, a record that still stands today. He beat a star studded field in the Group 2 Maitland Cup, a field tipped by many to have been the best Maitland Cup final of all time. After missing the start, Aussie showed blistering pace to circle the field and win running away.

Unfortunately Aussie’s race career was cut short, after suffering a major injury in a trial mishap, when preparing for a Melbourne Cup campaign.

Part of the reason for his stunning stud success, is because the confidence many breeders gained through not just his race track but also trial performances, many which were simply breath-taking. This boy could most certainly run.

With speed, and chase, and a damline that has produced strength in the likes of Ebby Ripper in recent times, and a sire line arguably comprising the greatest American sprinter of all time, Aussie was always destined for the best to come, after his race track career.
